Nearscape Photography: Clay Faces on the Barn
Clay birdhouses shaped like faces lined the side of a barn outside of Westminster, Maryland. Rough, textured, and expressive, they left a lasting impression long before I ever brought a camera.
Empire in Black
Captured at Empire State Plaza in Albany, New York, these images focus on the lines, repetition, and scale of the surrounding buildings. With the sky pushed to black, the architecture becomes the subject, stripped down to form and structure.
Jaunts to Ocean City
Ocean City is known for its summer crowds, but the boardwalk feels different when the seasons change. These images come from a few wanderings along the shore with a camera in hand during the slower times of the year.
Homeward Bound
The A line train carries him south, away from the heat of the conference room and toward the quiet of home. Stop by stop, the distance softens the day.

In Colonial Williamsburg, I found that the most compelling images were not the wide views, but the details shaped by time and light. Texture, contrast, and careful observation turned everyday objects into studies in character.
