Put that Coffee Down!!
You know the scene — Alec Baldwin storms into a sad little real estate office, drops the line like a hammer:
“Put that coffee down!! Coffee is for closers only!!”
It’s blunt. It’s brutal. And, weirdly, it’s stuck with me over the years.
Not because I sell real estate (I don’t), or because I believe in browbeating anyone into a deal (also no). But because the message underneath all that 90s testosterone still hits:
No coffee until the work is done. No shortcuts. No excuses. “Always be closing… Always Be Closing…”
That’s the mindset behind the full reboot of billmcnamee.com.
The site has a fresh new look. It’s cleaner, sharper, and more focused on what I’m doing now. It’s a creative space that reflects where I’m heading: a deeper commitment to my photography, long-form photo projects, photobooks, and the writing that supports and surrounds them.
This isn’t just a gallery site anymore. It’s a working studio in digital form. And the blog (yes, this one you’re reading right now) will be the heartbeat of it all.

Photography Projects - Ongoing series with a focused vision, some newly launched and others years in the making, now ready to see the light of day.
Photobooks - Behind-the-scenes looks at books currently in development, covering everything from early concepts to layout and print decisions.
Writing - Upcoming creative writing projects alongside reflections on visual storytelling, the people and places behind the images, and notes from the journey of turning ideas into finished work.
AI Art - Original generative AI-assisted artwork inspired by my photography and writing, used to expand visual narratives, experiment with style, and enhance selected images and stories with new creative layers.
So here we are. Coffee’s still brewing, but I’m not pouring a cup just yet. There’s more work to do. Because… Coffee is for closers only!!
