Nearscape Photography: Tonka Tough
Somewhere on the outskirts of Westminster, Maryland…
Jake and Thomas had put in a long day.
There had been rocks to haul and roads to build. Many loads of dirt needed to be moved from one end of the yard to the other. Thomas had gotten stuck twice. Jake had taken a particularly hard hit to his front end. Neither was willing to discuss how it happened.
By late afternoon, the work was finally done.
They parked in their usual spot up on the tree stump, each wondering why. Half on, half off, and one hell of a time getting backed into position.
Once in place for the evening against the woodpile, with dirt-caked tires and a few more scratches than they had that morning, it was time to relax and survey their work. Tomorrow would bring another job. Another road. More dirt to haul. Maybe another collision neither would admit to causing.
For now, Jake and Thomas could rest.
Besides, they were Tonka Tough.

Technical Notes:
The images were captured with a Canon DSLR and Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS lens. Processing was completed in Adobe Lightroom, with adjustments made to color, tone, texture, and clarity. A slight vignette and grain were also applied. Both images are presented in a 3:2 aspect ratio.
